Need blood work near you without waiting weeks for an appointment? At Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud La Porte we draw your sample the same day you walk in, no appointment needed, and a physician explains your results in Spanish or English. You leave knowing what each value means and what to do next.

Lab tests we perform

• Complete blood count (CBC): detects anemia, infections and platelet problems
• Blood chemistry and metabolic panel: glucose, electrolytes, kidney and liver function
• Lipid panel: total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides
• Hemoglobin A1C to diagnose and monitor diabetes
• Thyroid panel with TSH, T3 and T4
• Hormone tests: testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and prolactin
• Vitamin B12, vitamin D, iron and ferritin
• Blood pregnancy test (quantitative hCG)
• Sexually transmitted infection testing
• Blood type and Rh factor

If your doctor or employer gave you an order with specific tests, bring it and we follow it exactly.

When should you get blood work?

• Constant fatigue, dizziness, hair loss or unexplained weight changes
• Family history of diabetes, high cholesterol or thyroid problems
• Monitoring a chronic condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure
• An annual checkup even if you feel fine: diabetes and high cholesterol show no symptoms at first
• A requirement for work, school or paperwork

How to prepare

Glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides require 8 to 12 hours of fasting; water is fine. If you are only having A1C, thyroid, B12 or hormone tests, no fasting is needed. Do not stop your medications unless a physician tells you to. Since we open at 9 AM, you can come early, get your blood drawn and have breakfast afterward. Bring your medication list and, if you have results from another lab, bring those too so we can compare.

Results explained, not just a printout

Most routine tests are ready in 24 to 48 hours, and some the same day. When they arrive, a physician goes over them with you: what is normal, what is out of range and what it means for you. If something needs attention, we start treatment or follow-up during that same visit, without sending you somewhere else. You also get a printed copy to take wherever you need it.

We are open Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 9 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 7 PM, so you can come after work or on the weekend. No health insurance needed: pay with cash or card, with the price quoted up front.
