By the time you finish your visit you already feel sick, it is late or you have the kids with you; the last thing you want is to drive to another pharmacy, wait in line and find out they do not have your medication. At Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud La Porte we fill your prescription right in the clinic, in minutes, with an explanation in Spanish or English of how to take it and at affordable self-pay prices.

What you will find at our pharmacy

• Antibiotics for throat, ear, urinary, skin and sexually transmitted infections
• Medications for chronic conditions: metformin, blood pressure and cholesterol medications, levothyroxine, with low-cost generic options for your monthly follow-up
• Symptom relief: cold remedies, cough syrups, antihistamines for allergies, pain relievers and anti-inflammatories
• Women's health: birth control pills, treatments for vaginal infections, prenatal vitamins and folic acid
• Injectables and vitamins: vitamin B12, B-complex, injectable anti-inflammatories administered at the clinic
• Over-the-counter products: thermometers, oral rehydration solutions, wound-care supplies, glucose meters and test strips

If something is out of stock, we get it for you or give you the printed prescription to fill wherever you prefer; you never leave without options.

How it works

The physician sends the prescription directly to the pharmacy while you finish your visit. When you come to pick it up, the staff goes over each medication with you: what it is for, how many times a day, with or without food, for how many days and what effects you may notice. All in your language, and in writing on the label so you do not forget at home. If you take other medications, we check for interactions.

Refills

For ongoing treatments, such as diabetes, blood pressure or thyroid, you can come in to refill your prescription without paying for another visit while it is valid. When the prescription is about to expire, we let you know so you can schedule a follow-up with the physician and adjust the dose if needed.

Self-pay prices

We work mostly with generics, which have the same active ingredient as the brand at a fraction of the price. We tell you the cost before dispensing and, if there is a cheaper alternative that is just as effective, the physician considers it. No health insurance needed; we accept cash and cards.

What the pharmacy cannot do

We do not dispense controlled substances or prescriptions from outside doctors that we cannot verify. If you need a medication we do not carry, we guide you on where to get it.

It is one of the few pharmacies open until 9 at night in La Porte with service in Spanish.
